AK Drummer 78 The atmosphere on this is almost crushing, but not in a Portal kind of way. It's more precise than that. Angboða was chosen as my favorite track because it immediately establishes the mood for this listening experience, and the other songs follow suit very well. No fillers. If you're tired of that avant garde for the sake of being avant garde, slickly produced modern black metal and want something that takes you back to the glory days without being a retro knock-off, this is your album. Favorite track: Angrboða.
Treebeard
Treebeard thumbnail
Treebeard Killer Danish black metal with lyrics in Old Icelandic taken directly from Snorri Sturluson. Concept album based around Loki, the giantess Angrboda and their three children. An excellent musical display of the anti-cosmic forces of Norse mythology. Favorite track: Angrboða.
Milo

Milo modern/folk black metal perfected. nothing was reinvented here but it's really fine playing. dark, cold, scratchy and imaginative stuff. leave your mind unoccupied for a minute and follow old myths retold one more time. perfect album length. Favorite track: Fenris.
Majbritt Levinsen

Majbritt Levinsen Their third album ‘Angrboða’ from 2012 is in my opinion their best and it also differs from the 2 past releases as it is sung in old Icelandic and the lyrics are from the original Gylfaginning by Snorri Sturlurson, read more about this at their Bandcamp page. This 5 track album feels more complete and well worth a listen.
